furniture & complements

When I have conceived Castalia, I thought about an art which can be a living link between the classical aesthetic ideal and the ideal in Hermann Hesse’s utopian world after which it is named

In ancient times, any urban layout, any building, any furniture were testifying a shared conception of harmony and beauty which educated the taste and fulfilled the spirit. Because I am convinced that in today’s world our society is missing this public exposition of and to beauty, I want to populate daily life with beautiful objects, art which sublimates craftsmanship as a challenge to an ever invasive technology which is transforming man from master to slave of his tools

Castalia pieces are characterised by the preciousness of its material (bronze) and its ancient technique (lost wax casting). Even the complementary materials: exquisite marbles, fine leathers, selected woods and semiprecious stones, fulfil the requirement of absolute quality and refinement.

The new presences of Castalia try to satisfy our need of rethinking our time and our work in ways that allow us to regain a sense of beauty commensurate with the human being and inspired to the ideal of a coherent path in which art can meet life as its most authentic product and ultimate and transcendent destination of man.
